Offender Intervention
Most of Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services' efforts focus on the victims of domestic violence and those who are hurt and need safety, hope and empowerment. Yet, it would be a disservice to our community if we did not address and try to solve the problem of domestic abuse by working with the abusers.
MENDERS is a 52 week psycheducational program to help abusers. MENders group counseling encourages men to overcome their isolation and identify the deep-rooted issues associated with their abusive behavior and feelings. Each participant is encouraged to share feelings and identify the issues and concerns that lead to violence. Individual counseling and other referrals are available for all men associated with MENders to aid in stabilization and recovery. Education will include a number of topics that can be explored to help men understand their struggles and roles such as: anger, assertiveness, self-esteem, marital conflict, depression, problem solving and lifestyle changes. Please contact Wings of Hope at 405.372.9922 if you would like to learn more about group sessions, times, and fees.
