Sexual Assault Response
The minutes immediately following a sexual assault are some of the hardest a person will ever experience. Feeling violated, alone, scared and confused, victims need help - the Sexual Assault Response Team is here for those victims.
Using a three-pronged approach, law enforcement, nurses and advocates work together during the initial response to a sexual assault case. While law enforcement begins the investigation, nurses perform forensic exams and advocates provide support to the victims and their families. An advocate is with the victim to provide support and answer questions during this difficult time. Advocates are also available to provide support for secondary victims such as family members and friends.
